The décor blends traditional and modern touches, making it an ideal spot for casual meals with family or friends. The cozy, intimate setting invites guests to relax and savor the experience, whether you're seated by the window overlooking the street or at one of the small, wooden tables inside.

One of the standout features of Trattoria Le Nuvole is its diverse and well-curated menu. Here, you’ll find everything from mouthwatering pasta dishes to hearty meat options, all prepared with the freshest ingredients. What truly sets this place apart is the attention to detail in every dish. For instance, their tagliatelle al ragù, a classic bolognese, is a crowd favorite. The pasta is handmade, and the sauce is simmered to perfection, offering a balance of flavors that’s rich without being overwhelming. It’s the kind of dish you can’t help but savor with every bite.

But it’s not just about the pasta at Trattoria Le Nuvole. The meat dishes also shine, with options like brasato al barolo (braised beef in Barolo wine) and porchetta (roast pork) leaving guests in awe. The flavors are deep, comforting, and perfectly executed. Vegetarians aren’t left out either; there’s a range of fresh vegetable-based dishes like risotto alla zucca (pumpkin risotto) that hit the mark every time.

For those with a sweet tooth, Trattoria Le Nuvole offers a dessert menu that won’t disappoint. The tiramisu, made with layers of rich mascarpone and delicate coffee-soaked biscuits, is an indulgent treat, and the crostata di frutta (fruit tart) is a lighter yet equally satisfying option for those looking for something refreshing after their meal.

A key factor that contributes to the overall dining experience is the restaurant’s commitment to using locally sourced, high-quality ingredients. This not only ensures that the dishes are fresh but also showcases the flavors of the Ferrara region in every bite. The wines, handpicked to complement the menu, are another highlight. The wine list features a selection of local wines from Ferrara and beyond, with knowledgeable staff happy to recommend the perfect pairing for your meal.

What truly sets Trattoria Le Nuvole apart, however, is the service. The staff here are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. • Excellent fish restaurant in the medieval section of the historic centre. Good airco indoor, very few tables outside. Friendly service, pleasant ambiance, delicious food, decent choice of wines. For the two of us, the bill was €127. Suitable for our wedding anniversary celebration, we will go back.

  • Worst weekend possible to visit Ferrara: cold, rain and snow, but we found shelter in this nice restaurant. The very warm owner lead us to a side table, in the small but cozy room. And the amazing tasting experience begun. The dishes were cooked with care and love - almost all the menu is based on fish, with more classic recipes and some original ideas. Service was timely and very kind. The sashimi starter was really an anthology of flavours, of course if you like raw fish. Very interesting the fish carbonara, even if I preferred the linguine with clams. Only the dessert has been sort of a delusion, it was not bad but not as good as the rest - i will try a different one the next time. Too bad it was only lunch before the city's visit and we did not chose to afford a bottle of wine, but the wine by the glass was decent. The final bill was not cheap, but balanced for the quality and care. I think that the rating of this restaurant is well deserved. Final note: it's been a pity the misunderstanding with the booking - i would have preferred to have dinner here, in order to have a full culinary experience.

  • We celebrated my mother-in-law’s birthday here with 7 of us. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and cosy. The menu is diverse and very creative and the food is absolutely delicious. Everything was exceptional, the wine list is superb, and the chef and staff were kind, accommodating, and lovely. This is the second time we have been here, and we will absolutely return. I advise you to dk the same! By the way, there are ample gluten free and dairy free options to choose from. Just arrive hungry! EDIT: we returned last night for my 50th birthday dinner, and everything was spectacular! Thank you again for such a delicious meal and great memories!

  • This was our best meal in Ferrara and quite possibly the best meal on the three week trip throughout Italy. The restaurant itself is so charming and with a lot of character. It was full with local people enjoying the food and convivial atmosphere. The owner and staff were amazing. They were attentive, professional and warm. Ferrara is a beautiful city, and this place makes it even more enticing to return. Each dish is creative and is on a par or better than Michelin restaurants in Paris. The wine was one of best I ever had. It was a local white. Wife pronounced the pink shrimp tortellini to be heavenly. Amuse Bouche was amazing. Reservations likely needed for dinner.

  • All the reviews speak for the quality and impressiveness of this restaurant. We visited Ferrara for a wedding and came across this restaurant on google map. Menu has both a la carte and course options. We went with a la carte and ordered quite different things to try. All of them are review-worthy. I like the raw seafood platter in particular. I have never seen wasabi mouse anywhere else and think it is so well thought out! The ‘fake’ carbonara was also nice. All the dishes have creative names given to them. Staff are warm and friendly. And we were warmed by the scene of locals saying hi to one another. Gives an impression of Ferrara as a lovely small city where the community is close-knitted. Recommend to book because it was a full house.
